Charlie started his love for firearms at the early age of 14 with his Stepfather. At 19, he became a sworn Law Enforcement officer and was for many years. In 2012, he decided to take competitive shooting seriously and since then has won several Division Championships and picked up sponsors along the way. My fascination of firearms began when my father took me shooting at the ripe young age of 7. He had hopes of scaring me into respecting firearms, and started me with a single shot New England Firearms 20 gauge shotgun. Once situated and on target, I pulled the trigger, and proceeded to make immediate contact with the gravel drive we were in. His face changed from a grin (which he was attempting to hide), to a look of "uh oh, what have I done" when I jumped back up, brushed myself off, and yelled, "can I do it again dad, please?!" Needless to say, his plan had backfired.
I continued to shoot his guns, and bought my own first handgun, a Beretta 92FS Centurion, via my mother (I was a good salesman), at the age of 15. Later that year I gave her more money I had earned to buy a Bushmaster AR15 (boy how we learn later in life what kind of crap we used to think was cool or good quality lol). Shooting became a way of life, not just a hobby, but a passion.
Years later, I earned a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice at the University of Central Florida, but after some time of riding with friends of mine who were L.E. officers, I decided law enforcement was not for me. I found myself too much of a people person; nothing against law enforcement per se, as I have the upmost respect for what they do, it just wasn't for me.
I took a liking to the security industry, got the proper licensing and training, and made my way into the field of Executive Protection. From there, my career moved quickly. I've been blessed with a fantastic network of truly amazing people, and made it onto a security team detail to provide protection for one of Forbes Top 5 CEO's /Top 10 Billionaires. From there, other opportunities blossomed.
I am also in the field of Active Firearms Training ™, teaching courses and students, weekly, the knowledge I have gained from the many training courses I have taken over the years, most recently, the CQB course from European Security Academy in Książ Wielkopolski, Poland.
As Director of Training at C.O.R.E. Firearms Training, my responsibilities encompass developing, leading, and instructing all Active Firearms Training™ courses for carbine and handgun. Courses consist of dynamic weapons manipulation, in a myriad of diverse scenarios.

At 4 years old, I fell in love with shooting when I was hitting targets with my grandfather while living in California. Honing my skills shooting squirrels and targets at every opportunity. Scouring the web for any and all technical firearms information I could find. Many hours were spent studying and disassembling my fathers’ firearms. Shooting competition opportunities were few in my area, so exposure to competition was limited to following several out-of-state shooters online.
Moving from California to Missouri in 2014 afforded me the opportunity to be in the middle of the competitive shooting world and attend several matches as a fan. It also allowed me to meet many of shooting sports talented and popular figures including the great Jerry Miculek while watching them compete. One thing that I really appreciate about the competitive shooters that I’ve met is their willingness to share information and expertise freely. An opportunity came up to attend History Channel Top Shot season 3 winner Dustin Ellermann’s Marksmanship camp in Texas. http://www.topshotdustin.com/ In 2015 I also went back and served as summer staff at his camp. http://www.camphisway.com.
Enjoying the freedom of Missouri, the first thing I did was build my own AR platform rifle with future competition in mind.
Starting in 2016, I began to venture out into the area of pistol competitions as a junior shooter. I attended my first NRA annual convention in Louisville and it really opened my eyes to how many great products and people are in this industry. The end of 2016 brought an exciting work-in-progress, developing and starting a business with my father to give our friends and co-patriots in ban states a legal storage option for banned items such as magazines, kits, and ammo. http://www.freedomscache.com.
2017 plans include as many matches as I can afford allowing me to build on my experience and skills. I am also hoping a shotgun finds its’ way to me this year and to hit a 3-gun match or two.
