MILITEC 1 METAL CONDITIONER

1. During the deployment of 2nd Plt FAST Company to the Republic of Panama in the Fall of 1988, Militec-1 Synthetic Based Metal Conditioner was used extensively on several weapons systems. Throughout the course of the security operations there we conducted several live fire exercises with all weapons. Militec-l compared very favorably to the normally used CLP (Break-Free). I do not recall any machinegun malfunctions during two firing exercises using eight guns. Militec-1 was applied only to the internal moving parts of half of the guns. I witnessed no excessive wear on these surfaces after firing.

2. The rainy season was in full swing during our deployment and corrosion was a constant concern. Heavy coatings of Break-Free were neccessary to prevent the corrosive effects of the heavy and almost continual rain. Militec-1 was again used exclusively on the internal components of approximately half of the crew-served weapons. Again, there were no adverse corrosive effects on these surfaces.

3. The comparison of Militec-1 to Break Free was unscientific in nature but nonetheless, I think that this product has the capability to withstand the environmental effects of a tropical climate.
