Dear Mr. Giordani:

This is with regard to Falex Pin and V Block testing as conducted by Petro-Lubricant Test Labs., Inc. and U. S. Army TACOM-ARDEC on your product MILlTEC-1.

The inherent nature of Falex testing often presents problems in the area of repeatability and consistency of the surface finish of pins and v-blocks obtainable from Faville-Levally. Such problems are inherent in the nature of Falex testing and can be compensated for quite easily through periodic calibration of the Falex Lubricant Tester and coordination of test results and procedures between participating laboratories (preferably three independent sites).

Therefore, in recognition of the above and in consideration of the disparity between the Falex Load Bearing test results obtained by Petro-Lubricant Test Labs and TACOM-ARDEC, it is proposed that a coordinated test program involving Falex testing be initiated. Such a test program would necessitate a direct and close cooperative effort between Petro-Lubricants Test Labs and TACOM-ARDEC, and, therefore, can only be undertaken with the concurrence of MILITEC, Inc.

The point of contact is Mr. Paul Tremblay, AMSTA-AR-EDE-S, telephone number (201) 724-6671, FAX (201) 724-5288.
