As good as the engine tests results are, they cannot compare with the incredible performance of Militec-1 in the transmission. The sequence of nearly disastrous events follows. I had been experiencing a much too frequent need to adjust the tension on the primary drive chain. Upon removing the primary chain case, I found a damaged tension adjusting nylon shoe which had been ground away contaminating the entire transmission. After replacing the tension adjusting shoe, I flushed the transmission housing to remove all contamination, then re-installed the chain case. At that juncture I made a big mistake. I misread the oil servicing requirement and put only 8 ounces (instead of 24) of transmission oil in the case. Fortunately, I also added 2 ounces of Militec-1. For several thousand miles the transmission shifted so effortlessly that one Harley Davidson mechanic commented he'd never ridden a Sportster that just "snicked" from one gear to the next with so little effort. (Sportsters usually require a firm foot on the shift lever and produce a heavy "thunk" during gear changes). Then as summer temperatures climbed, the transmission became harder to shift, sometimes hanging up in fourth gear. As the first step in troubleshooting, I drained the gear oil retrieving only 10 ounces which seemed precious little. Upon checking the shop manual, I realized my mistake. Fearing the worst. I removed the primary chain case and inspected the transmission. I was relieved to find no damage. After re-installation of the transmission and case, I put in 22 ounces of gear oil and 2 ounces of Militec-1. Amazingly, the transmission again "snicks" into each gear as smoothly as before. I'm convinced that had it not been for Militec-1 protecting (lubricating) all those bearings, shafts, and meshed gears, I'd have been facing a huge (many hundreds of dollars) repair bill.

What can I say except: "Thanks Brad for the sample product and supporting data"?

You can be sure I'm a believer in Militec-1 and I have several other projects in mind, some of them within my company.

Sincerely,
